Lesson 3 of 3 · 5 min

Finishing a seam

A neat finish keeps a seam from fraying and makes the piece last.

  1. Trim the seam allowance to about 1 cm.
  2. Fold each raw edge under by half.
  3. Stitch along the fold with small, even stitches.
Press each seam with an iron before you move on: it makes the next step easier.

That's the end of the course. Mark this lesson as done, then get your certificate.

One last question

1. What should you do before moving to the next step?
